Secuscan System Overview and Functions
The Under Vehicle Monitoring System SecuScan® essentially comprises a scanning unit,
a workstation, traffic lights and a light barrier; depending on the system option,
SecuScan® uses hard-rubber pads and aluminum ramps for the mobile system as well as a stainless steel construction for the permanent system.
In addition, SecuScan® can be upgraded with a variety of additional options.
The scanning unit (height = 11 cm/4.3″) consists of a line camera, a mirror and an infrared LED lighting unit.
Through a small slit in the scanning unit, the camera captures the entire underside of a vehicle in moving traffic.
In order to display the underside to scale, different heights of undercarriages (car/truck) as well as the vehicle length are taken into account.
The underside is then displayed as high-resolution image on the screen.

It is little surprising that the TI-S Series under vehicle inspection system from STI Israel is the preferred tool of choice arund the world for detecting suspicious objects and threats under vehicles.
The under vehicle inspection system is designed to provide the best tool for detecting and inspecting the most obscure part of the vehicle , the chassis. This UVI is capable of detecting explosives, drugs, and other prohibited objects that might be concealed underneath a vehicle for smuggling out of or into a building, across borders or prisons.
The TIS-Series design offers operators the luxury of analysing objects without the threat of physically getting to them which can make a whole lot of difference when dealing with a bomb threat.
All data from the under vehicle inspect system can be recorded to the local DVR system for training and investigation uses. The data can be tied to a LPR system for better documentation.
